As part of our work with European digital arts network, Platform Shift+, last April we took part in a Youth Encounter in Tallinn Estonia. The Youth Encounter saw 4 organisation (EEA, TJG, TEATRET VART, VAT TEATER) from the network come together along with young people who are connected to each organisation.
We were thrilled to be working with our longstanding collaborators, Corelli College, and Shermaine Slocombe (Arts College Manager) along with Tas Emiabata (Associate Artist) accompanied 8 young people from the school to take part in the Youth Encounter which explored young people exploring how technology impacts on their identity.
Shermaine recently wrote a blog for A New Direction where she reflects on the week’s residency.
“We are not able to change people’s lives overnight but hopefully ZARA might help to alter society for the better"
Rothbury Hall has opened its doors to our local elder neighbours to find out how they would like to change their local area creatively.
Shermaine Slocombe recently published a blog post on A New Direction's website, calling on schools and the cultural sector to work together.
