Emergency Exit Arts were commissioned by artist Jeremy Deller and The National Gallery to work with Heart n Soul in designing a new giant puppet for The Triumph of Art, a nationwide project celebrating 200 years of the National Gallery.
The result of the commission was Quingo Starliquinn, a 5.5m tall drumming puppet with 4 different faces that also carried Heart n Soul DJs between its drumming arms. Quingo was designed by Tony Mason and Heart n Soul's "Do Your Own Thing" artists, it was fabricated by Tony and our skilled team of EEA practitioners.
On Saturday 26 July 2025 Quingo proudly joined the procession along Whitehall to Trafalgar Square where Do Your Own Thing DJ’d on the puppet for the entire day.
The event was a resounding success, fostering meaningful connections and bringing together individuals from the Learning Disabled (LD) community and wider audiences. It served as a powerful demonstration of inclusive creativity and community engagement.
