Colchester Festive Light Parade 2023:
When: Wednesday 15th November from 5pm
We’re thrilled to be working with Colchester Events for the second year to put on the Colchester Festive Light Parade this November.
Leading this year’s parade is Farrah the Fox, she is on a mission travelling the country on her scooter to see high streets in their full glory. Farrah is coming to Colchester to explore and celebrate the High Street as well as the people who love and look after it. She will experience Colchester City Now & Then - Celebrating Colchester's Rich Heritage and the contemporary city it is now.
Come along and enjoy the pre-parade entertainment at Firstsite from 3pm and post-parade entertainment at The Mercury Theatre from 5.45pm.
Ahead of the event day, join our FREE WORKSHOPS to make your own handheld lantern to carry at the Festive Light Parade!
Saturday 4th November 12-3.30pm – Colchester Library, Trinity Square, CO1 1JB
Saturday 11th November 10am-1.30pm – Firstsite, Lewis Gardens, High Street, CO1 1JH

EEA are working with schools and community groups to create magnificent lanterns to reflect the city’s past and represent the vibrant and diverse Colchester of today.
The parade will be a spectacular community event with EEA’s giant puppets (Farrah the Fox & Nelly the Elephant), live entertainment and music. A wonderful opportunity for schools and community groups to come together and celebrate the start of the festive season and Christmas Light Switch On in Colchester.
