2018 marks 50 years since the first residents, the Gooch family, moved into Thamesmead. To mark the occasion a big birthday party is in order!
The Thamesmead 50th Birthday celebrations hosted by Peabody with Emergency Exit Arts will kick off with a colourful carnival procession, weaving its way through Thamesmead’s streets and finishing off at the main festival site at Southmere Park.
The festival features a local talent stage, a craft and food market on Southmere Square, aerial circus performance, an exciting children’s area and the return of the much loved Thamesmead pet show! This promises to be a fun filled family day with something for everyone. Join us!
