Roots - Rotherham Street Carnival

Emergency Exit Arts are excited to be part of Roots – Rotherham Carnival with Partners Children’s Capital of Culture and Flux Rotherham. This is a new event for Rotherham in the form of a large street carnival that will animate the town centre with people, music and happiness on the 13th April!

Our team of freelance artists have been busy working with Young Producers and Makers from Children's Capital of Culture to create Reign, a giant puppet that represents the River Don that runs through the centre of the town. Reign will be accompanying Farrah, and many local schools and community groups throughout the procession.

This FREE family friendly ‘Nature & Environment’ themed spectacle will be a day of dance, live music, workshops, and creative activities.

There will be activities and workshops from 11am in Minster Yard, and live performances in All Saints Square. The procession will start at Rotherham Minster at 1pm, ending in All Saints Square at 1.45pm where there will be a finale and a chance to meet Farrah and Reign and hopefully manage a selfie with them!
