Open Community Meeting: River & Moorland Festivals

The River & Moorland Festivals are a series of exciting, community focused cultural festivals that will take place between 2025 and 2029. The events will focus on the areas of Okehampton, Ivybridge and Princetown, the communities that live and work on the Moors and along Dartmoor’s river catchments - the Okement, the Dart and the Erme & Yealm.

Event Producers Emergency Exit Arts and Flock South West will work with you to create something meaningful and worthwhile, bringing in the knowledge, creativity and energy that can be found across the Moors.

We are inviting you to join us for an initial opening meeting to talk openly about what the festivals might look like and how they work. Your contributions will help us shape the programme, make sure we are including important groups and people and that we can provide beneficial opportunities for locals. It will also be an opportunity to find out more about us and the project.

There are two meeting time slots, please pick the time that's most convenient to you-

It is also a chance to see the exhibitions at MAKE, who have agreed to keep them open for the meetings. This includes PULP in the Jubilee Gallery, plus their Members Showcase will be hosting works by Phillipa de Burlet and Taja, and the Graduate Winners Show will be on in the Riverside Gallery. More information can be found here: Exhibitions — MAKE Southwest

Other ways to join the project:

  • Email [email protected] to join the project mailing list to get updates and be included in future conversations.
  • We will be running in-person creative sessions in each of the areas in April (sign up to the mailing list to stay up to date)
