Greenwich at its Best: Community Procession

Emergency Exit Arts team of professional artists will be delivering inclusive, inspirational workshops and masterclasses with local schools to create artwork and lanterns for a community procession through the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College and Cutty Sark Gardens. All EEA Lanterns are created using natural biodegradable willow and paper, or found objects and recyclable materials.

The procession begins at 16:30 with a New Orleans Processional band leading them through the streets to the grand finale in Cutty Sark Gardens. Get your marching feet moving and join us on the day to follow the procession through the streets!

If your children's school isn't participating, we encourage you all to come along to The Garden Party at Cutty Sark Gardens on the 5th and 6th October. EEA artists will be on hand to get the creativity buzzing and help to build a lantern or piece of art for your child to join the procession the following weekend. Please note that the artwork/lantern will be kept and integrated into the carnival, ready for collection at the start of the procession on the 12th.

Please register your interest in the procession so we can keep an eye on numbers, and keep you updated on meeting points!
