What we doFamily Zones

EEA aims to transform the seemingly ordinary into the extraordinary as we create mesmerising environments and moments of wonder in everyday spaces. The environments are created and animated by our team of creative practitioners, who invite children and their families to participate in creative activities and challenges.

Our programmes and activities are designed around specific themes, either invented by us or in response to your brief. We can deliver event management, programming of sports and entertainment, site décor, creative play, storytelling, music and performance. Commission us to create a carnival in a day accompanied by our amazing Giants and make an extraordinary environment with sculptures and sensory effects.

Our clients include the O2, London Mela, Liberty Festival, Newham Council, Coram’s Fields and WOMAD.

Gulliver’s Voyage

Gulliver is one of our giant mechanical puppets and he has wowed audiences across the UK. He communicates spontaneously with children through an unseen performer on radio microphone. To accompany this gigantic traveller, we provide a full day of activities including storytelling, making, circus skills and music with our marimba percussion instruments.

Perhaps you’ll create a tiny model town with bright shiny buildings, little puppet people and miniature trees, animals, cars. Or make ships on hats to help you join in Gulliver’s journey.

Water Garden

In the peaceful environment of a storytelling tent decorated with jellyfish lampshades, fishes and nets, children are taken on a journey that engages them in issues associated with climate change and peak oil. In between storytelling sessions, children make music using percussion instruments.

In the water play area, our drama facilitator encourages the children to use a range of interactive toys, including a cascade activity centre. Arts and crafts activities for children and accompanying adults include creating a fish hat or a jellyfish puppet.

In the centre of the water garden you’ll find the giant swan on whose back you can ride, surrounded by large decorative flowers. Here a drama facilitator in character gathers stories, secrets and sounds from visitors. The resulting recording is edited by a sound artist throughout the afternoon to create a watery soundscape.

Trashcatchers Ball

This is an arts and crafts based activity area for 8 -14 years olds that includes making jewellery, accessories, costumes, puppets and instruments out of recycled materials. We source clean, child-friendly materials that are also available at home.

Music facilitators create a carnival band using trash drum kits and make junk trumpets and percussion with children and young people to take home.

Elemental Carnival

Using our elemental carnival costumes and our unique sports puppets representing Earth, Air, Fire and Water, we’ll make a carnival in a day or as part of a more sustained project.

Children are supported by artists to make their own costumes, puppets and banners to parade round their local park, playground or town centre. EEA will also programme complimentary health and wellbeing activities via local providers.
