Starting now and ending with a festival early October, Edible Grimsby aims to empower the community to take action in their local area and to become better connected with one another. Moving away from wasteful consumerism, we want to use food and creativity as vehicles to tackle issues of power, place, sustainability, and community.
The project will promote tasty dishes which are affordable and healthy for people and the planet. Starting in the spring, the ingredients will be grown in the community, cooked at home or in community kitchens, and shared with one another in a mass celebratory event later in the year. The project will include lots of creative opportunities to showcase local artistic talent and celebrate Grimsby and the wider North East Lincolnshire area.
