Exciting news from EEA this month! We have new shows available for touring very soon, and one exciting project announcement that will help us on our mission to work with communities for longer to have a bigger impact...
We are excited to be able to announce The Hourglass, a dynamic artwork produced in collaboration with light wizards Illuminos and ready for touring autumn 2021! The Hourglass combines large-scale sculptural work with projection mapping and plenty of room for community involvement. Perfect for this autumn and winter light festivals. We are also currently developing more covid-safe spring/summer shows which will be available for touring from April 2021 so stay tuned for announcements!
We are over the moon! 🚀 We are proud to announce that Historic England has chosen EEA to deliver a large-scale celebration of the high street in 2023. For the next 3 years, together with communities in England, we will co-create an outdoor art event that celebrates the local high street and everyone in and around them.
Our work with schools and young people continues! In celebration of LGBTQ History month, we have been exploring what love in all forms means to Greenwich young people in 2020/21. We are working with students at Eltham Hill and Woolwich Polytechnic for Boys using discussion and learning about different LGBTQ artists to create 'mini-time capsules' filled with visual expressions of their ideas of love. We have also worked with Metro's regular LGBTQ young people groups using music and song lyrics to explore how we can identify and process our emotions.
EEA have been working hard on developing an idea for Festival UK* 2022 with an amazing partnership including 2 universities, 2 celebrity chefs and some brilliant creative brains. The concept we have now pitched is around how good food and creativity can help transform places & empower communities. We should hear in March whether we have been successful. See our website for further details coming soon.
