Emma Parkinson

Emma Parkinson is Course Director for postgraduate studies in Emergency Management and Resilience and Crowded Places and Public Safety Management at Coventry University, where she specialises in crowd safety, emergency management, and organisational approaches to the interrelationship of safety and security. As a practitioner, she is employed in the management of crowded places, with clients including international music festivals, sporting venues and city centre events. Her background is in the provision of large-scale event stewarding services, and she is currently undertaking a doctorate exploring the barriers to the development of safety-related resilience in the management of temporary mass gatherings. She's also a licensed pyrotechnician, so EEA felt like a very natural fit!
